Joshua has gained a best friend
Puppy in training, Paulie, was matched with Joshua in 2020.
These two have formed a very special bond!
Joshua’s mom Ciara tells us all about this amazing pair!
“We have been well in truly blessed with Paulie, from My Canine Companion.
He has been such a fabulous addition to our family. I have been supporting and following the work of My Canine Companion for years and I was lucky enough to meet Niall & Cliona and witness first-hand the fantastic work they do with all their service dogs.
It was then I realised what a huge help a service dog would be for our son Joshua who was diagnosed with Autism, Global Developmental Delay and a moderate learning disability.
Joshua suffers from extreme separation anxiety but still craves independence like all little boys.
Since Paulie has arrived, we see him venture out of his comfort zones and explore without fear.
He plays with Paulie and I have no doubt they will be friends for years to come.

Raising a child with Autism can be challenging, and lonely, and not only has Joshua gained a best friend but we have gained a big furry family that have been amazing support.”
